Spoof Your MAC address with Kali Linux (Get access to free internet)

Today I will tell you how to spoof your WiFi Mac address. Changing WiFi MAC address can help you with many things.
I hope most of you readers know what is MAC address and how it works. But I will like to tell you What is WiFi MAC address.

WHAT IS WIFI MAC ADDRESS ?

MAC are also known as Media Access Control.
A media access control address (MAC address) of a computer is a unique identifier assigned to network interfaces for communications at the data link layer of a network segment. MAC addresses are used as a network address for most IEEE 802 network technologies, including Ethernet and Wi-Fi.

MAC addresses are formed according to the rules of one of three numbering name spaces managed by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE): MAC-48, EUI-48, and EUI-64. The IEEE claims trademarks on the names EUI-48 and EUI-64, in which EUI is an abbreviation for Extended Unique Identifier.

ADVANTAGES OF SPOOFING MAC ADDRESS

There are some advantages which you can take by spoofing your mac address. By spoofing mac address you can

2) IDENTITY PROTECTION

3) STOP TRACKING

For understanding these advantages, you must know what spoofing mac address is.

SPOOFING MAC ADDRESS

Spoofing mac address means changing your default mac address. Spoofing your mac address will replace your mac address with a custom mac address. This changing takes place temporary and it is not permanent.
Your default mac address will not be affected .Spoofing only covers your default mac address with new address.

Now see, If you want to get free access to someone wifi , you can get that by spoofing your mac address. When you spoof you just have to replace your mac address with the victim's wifi mac address and then You have the same mac address as the original. So you get access to internet.
Changing Mac address also covers your identity cause you are using a fake address. And no one can track you with fake wifi mac address.

STEPS TO SPOOF MAC ADDRESS (KALI LINUX)

Now here i am giving simple tutorial on how you can spoof your wifi mac address with kali linux. For  Windows and Android users, i will give tutorial on next post.

First, You should have Kali Linux OS.

Now you can start.
Just follow my commands.

👉  Fire Up the terminal.


👉  First you have bring your network adapter down
For this enter these commands -

        ifconfig wlan0 down


👉  Now You have to start the Macchanger program built in kali - Type

       macchanger -r wlan0
   
    Wlan0 - is your wifi here

It will change your mac address with a random mac address.
There It will show you Current mac address , permanent mac address and new mac address


👉   If you want to change your mac address manually then Type -

        macchanger -m 05:65:76:a9:6b:34 wlan0


     Here 05:65:76:a9:6b:34 is your new custom mac address. You can enter anything specific here.


👉  Now it will change your mac address and show you the current mac address, permanent mac address and new mac address.



👉  Now bring up your network adapter -type


       ifconfig wlan0 up


👉  Now you can check your new mac address by typing ifconfig wlan0 .
